Balloon Décor & Events Franchise in Free State
Own the Mr Helium & Co territory for Bloemfontein, Welkom and Bethlehem: a low-cost, home-based balloon décor, events and bespoke gifting franchise from R95 000, with an exclusive territory, hands-on training and no shop to lease.
Why Free State
Bloemfontein is the Free State's commercial, legal and university centre, with Welkom and the Goldfields, Bethlehem and Sasolburg as strong secondary markets — and few dedicated corporate décor businesses competing for the work.
- Shopping centres such as Mimosa Mall and the Loch Logan Waterfront in Bloemfontein and Goldfields Mall in Welkom run activations and seasonal campaigns.
- University and school calendars bring graduations, matric farewells and campus events every year.
- Mining, petrochemical and agricultural businesses book corporate functions and open days.
- Weddings on Eastern Free State farm venues and family celebrations provide steady weekend work.
What you would do
- Corporate and retail décor — store openings and relaunches, mall activations, launches, conferences and year-end functions.
- Private celebrations — birthdays, baby showers, weddings, matric dances and milestone parties.
- Bespoke gifting — balloon gifts, personalised gift boxes and corporate gifting programmes.
You run it from home and install at the client's venue — the model, systems, kit and brand come from head office, and the franchise portal handles your clients, quotes, invoices and bookings.

Frequently asked questions
Is a Mr Helium & Co franchise territory available in Free State?
Territories in Free State are allocated on a first-confirmed basis and sized by population and retail density. Tell us your town on the application form or WhatsApp and we will confirm what is still open and send a territory map.
Can I run it from home?
Yes. It is a mobile, travel-to-venue business: you prepare and store kit at a home base and install at the client's venue, so there is no shop lease or fit-out.
Do I need décor or events experience?
No. Training covers design, installation, rigging and safety, quoting and winning corporate clients. You do need to be comfortable selling, reliable on deadlines, a valid driver's licence and working capital for early jobs.
How much does it cost?
Three indicative 2026 packages: Launch Territory from R95 000, Signature Territory from R165 000 and Regional Master from R380 000 — covering licence, exclusive territory, kit and training, excluding vehicle, working capital and VAT. Final figures are confirmed in the written disclosure document.
